In the African Culture, the phrase “Mama” is given with great respect. There are two “Founding Mama’s” who have volunteered numerous hours with Asante Africa Foundation since the beginning. Judy Damoulos has managed the “thank you’s” to our donors and friends. Muriel Dean has managed our financial books since January 2007. Both have helped guide, shape, and steer this organization along the path of maturity.
Judy has been instrumental in creating an Asante Africa image and helping us be true to our commitment of staying close to our donors. She has been a coach and conscious to the Senior leaders of the organization.
Muriel has quietly taught us the ways of Non-Profit book keeping, and sometimes not so quietly corrected our errors and assumptions regarding “her” books. She is a wealth of knowledge that our financial foundation is based upon as we continue to grow. |
