Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere Trio

Spice up your collection with these rare wines

Harvest Celebration in the Vineyard

St Emilion Grand Cru Classe –  Three superb vintages –1995, 1998, 2000 – matured and ready to drink! Boudreaux from 1995 and 2000 are rated from fair to phenomenal because they are considered to be spectacular years. This trio is not broadly available except through the generosity of a wine collector or “wine snob.” These wines were held within a private collection for over 20 years.

  • 1995 Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere  – A massive wine with a cigar box chocolatey, thick, black, current and cherry-scented nose, this full-bodied wine is crammed with layers of fruit…the finish is long and rich’

  • 1998 Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere  – This is very fresh and multidimensional on the nose and palate. Aromas of blackberry, grilled meat and fresh mushrooms follow through to a full body, with a solid core of firm yet silky tannins and a chocolate, berry, and meaty finish. Luscious and opulent. Tight and beautiful. *Ranked #5, Top 100 Wines of 2001*

  • 2000 Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere – Extraordinarily flamboyant, full-bodied, opulent, sexy St. Emilion stood out for its backward structure and youthful personality. A dark plum/garnet hue is followed by a superb bouquet of roasted coffee, kirsch, blackberries, licorice, herbs, and forest floor. Full-bodied, dense, rich, and pure, it is a total hedonistic as well as intellectual turn-on.

VALUE: $585

Wine Therapy at Retzlaff Vineyard

Sip away your stress with a curated case of fine wines

Harvest Celebration in the Vineyard

Gloria’s Pride is the ultimate in wine therapy, created in memory of owner Dr. Robert Taylor’s wife Gloria Retzlaff. This is a gorgeous and limited production blend of the Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Old Vine Merlot.

A Bit of History: Gloria blazed a trail within Livermore’s burgeoning modern wine industry alongside her husband, Bob Taylor. Gloria moved her family to a neglected 14-acre sheep ranch in 1975. No crops had ever been grown on the land, so no chemical inputs had ever been applied. It was essentially virgin land, making it easy to farm organically. The Taylors developed a heightened interest in wine in 1980 when Bob was offered a one-year sabbatical to work at the world’s largest solar research facility in Odeillo, France. The pair was charmed by the way the French appreciate wine as part of daily life, and the tradition stayed with them when they returned. Accordingly, they decided to plant grapevines, and as Bob and Gloria were passionate environmentalists, organic viticulture was just common sense.

DETAILS: A curated case of fine Retzlaff wines, including library wines and special edition wine “Gloria’s Pride.”

VALUE: $1000
