Finding Her Voice: How Sarah Turned Opportunity into Empowerment

Sarah, a bright and determined student in Secondary School, reflects proudly on her journey with the Asante Africa Club at her school, an experience she describes as both life-changing and empowering.

One of the highlights of Sarah’s participation was competing in the Enterprise Challenge (EC) regional competitions in Kassanda, where she confidently pitched her team’s business idea. Through this experience, she strengthened her communication skills, learned how to engage diverse audiences, and gained confidence in public speaking. Her strong performance earned her certificates and a T-shirt, recognizing her dedication and hard work.

Sarah also values the teamwork and collaboration she developed through the Asante Africa lessons. Working closely with her peers helped her learn how to share ideas, solve problems collectively, and work effectively as part of a team, skills essential to success in STEM and entrepreneurship.

Another transformative aspect of her experience was learning to use laptops provided by Asante Africa Foundation. This exposure improved her computer literacy and expanded her understanding of how technology can support learning, innovation, and business development.

Since joining Asante Africa, Sarah has gained practical entrepreneurship skills that have helped her understand how to start, manage, and grow a business. She learned how to develop strong business ideas, clearly communicate their benefits, and present them with confidence. As she proudly states, “I learnt how to pitch my business.”

Reflecting on her growth, Sarah emphasizes Asant Africa’s role in shaping her future: “Right now, I can go outside school and start my own business. It can help me make profits so that I can live a better life.”
