Since 2018, our team in Uganda, has been providing educational programs, scholarships, and community-based support.
With fully local staff on the ground, youth are given the tools they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Our Youth Livelihood Program, Wezesha Vijana Program, and Accelerated Learning Program, are made possible through the relationships we build within the communities. Families and communities become engaged and value the power of education.

Uganda Leadership Team

Ritah holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Uganda Martyrs University Nkoz where she majored in Finance and Accounting. She is currently pursuing ACCA, an accounting professional course. Ritah is an ambitious and hardworking individual with a 3years experience in the accounting field. She is an entrepreneur and dreams of having her own enterprise that will create jobs for people. Ritah currently has a small bake shop called Amerita A Daddies, which she plans to expand into a larger business.

Geoffrey is an experienced Country Program Manager with experience in the philanthropy industry. He is skilled in negotiation, public speaking, business planning, team management, and networking. He is a program and project management professional with a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the Makerere University, a Masters of Business Administration in Oil & Gas Management from Uganda Christian University, and certificates from Duke University, SciencesPo, and SDG Academy. Geoffrey has worked as Operations Manager in import and distribution at Tulsa Investment Limited, as a commercial coffee farmer, and as an Entrepreneur Partner at BLK & GK Investments Limited and Abrielle Energy Resources Limited.

Deborah Namugenyi is a teacher, entrepreneur and a communicator. She is open minded, resourceful, passionate about education and leadership with a sound and optimistic outlook on all things in life. Deborah is a co- founder of two schools Busega Martyrs Kindergarten and Nazareth kindergarten. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Makerere University and per suing a postgraduate diploma in Early Childhood Education from Ndejje University in Uganda. Deborah is a good communicator, fluent in English, Luganda with beginners level in Kiswahili. She has a deep abiding passion for improving the lives of different people in all areas. When she is not in class, she makes gift hampers for all kinds of events.

Samuel is a teacher, farmer and a social worker, and has assisted the community through educating the youth, especially the needy youth, and strategizing with them to form small groups for their entrepreneurship and fundraising. He is a good interactor, communicator, counselor, and mentor, who is fluent in English and Luganda and a learner in Kiswahili. Samuel holds a Bachelor’s degree in physical science from Makerere University and a certificate of communication with confidence and life coaching/mentoring from College of Health Science Makerere University. He has a diploma in project planning and management and is now pursuing a bachelor’s in social work and social administration at Nkumba University. Samuel has a vision of changing people’s lives politically, socially and financially to improve standards of living.

Wilson is from the rural district of Uganda called Kabarole. He qualified with a post graduate certificate in monitoring and evaluation from Makerere University, Post graduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation from Nkumba University, and Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Makerere University. He also holds certificates in guidance and counseling from YMCA Kampala and capital markets from Makerere University and has developed leadership skills through responsibilities held in schools and volunteering experience.

Bridget is an enthusiastic about working on information technology with Asante Africa Foundation under the Digital Transformation Program. She has experience in the programming languages of HTML/CSS, Design and JavaScript. Bridget has used content from NCDC to create Digital Content that our beneficiaries can access offline using Kolibri.
Using the skills she has learned, Bridget looks forward to giving back to her community. She is an advocate for girl child empowerment and gender balance.

Innocent is an inquisitive learner and is self-motivated. He has worked with different businesses, privately, on contractual basis. He has worked as an IT officer, a hardware and software maintainer, a hotel manager, a digital embroidery designer, and a digital marketer. Innocent has also interned with the Uganda police in the CCTV department.
Innocent holds a Bachelor’s of Science Information Systems degree from Makerere University and is currently, pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Security with Forensics (graduation 2022).

Brenda is a 2017 graduate from MAKERERE UNIVERSITY with a degree in Business Administration. Before joining Asante Africa Foundation, Brenda worked for Movit Products Limited, a cosmetic company, as production assistant and acquired skills in labelling and coding products and also with Baka Pharmaceuticals Limited as Data Entrant.
Currently, Brenda is working on a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a Specialisation in Management. Her vision is to become a successful business lady and a good manager.
Brenda loves helping others, the disadvantaged people, especially young ones from her home District of Kassandra.

Ronnet is a teacher and an entrepreneur, who is engaged in agriculture, especially cattle rearing. She loves nature and because of that, she founded ‘save nature’ a group of youth in her community whose aim is to sensitize the community about the importance of nature, especially swamps and forests to guard against drought.
In early 2021, Ronnet completed her Bachelor’s degree in Education (Kiswahili and History) from Makerere University, Uganda. Ronnet is also fluent in Runyakitara, English and Kiswahili.
Ronnet feels that as an educated person,it is her duty to transform her community. It’s on this point that she looks forward to starting entrepreneurship groups in her community aiming at eradicating poverty and also giving hope to the illiterate.

Collin is a Social Scientist with over 18 years of experience in developing gender-responsive, monitoring, evaluating and training social behavior for health-related research projects. He has
recently added resource mobilization as an extra specialty and currently supports FAWE Uganda as the Head of Research and Resource Mobilization. Collin also works as a research associate at the School of Psychology at Makerere University.
