Building Community Awareness, Uganda

Asante Africa Foundation club members and volunteers engaged in a campaign to create awareness about teenage pregnancy, early marriage, Gender-based violence, managing stress, and conflict resolution by distributing and putting up flyers in busy areas in their community. Volunteers visited offices of the Child and Family Protection Unit, Community Liaison Officer, District Community Officer, and Probation Officer of the district. All officers appreciated the efforts of Asante Africa and also agreed to help in spreading the material in high traffic areas. Volunteers identified and pinned the flyers in busy areas such as markets, boda stages, shops, and other areas. Many in the community were happy to receive the message and agreed to participate in disseminating the message and help reduce these issues within their communities.
