Adelina’s Beauty Salon, Kenya
Adelina is an LEI alumni who is a form three student from in the Turkana region, Kenya. She runs a beauty salon, where she has been successful enough to employed a second hairdresser.
Recently, she has been taking on the role of hairdresser in her salon, since the school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The salon is Adelina’s source of livelihood, since her parents cannot support her from their limited income as pastoralists. During the Asante Africa training she recieved she learnt skills in saving money, being a leader, and starting her business. Now she is excited for what the future holds for her and her family.
