Empowering Youth Amidst a Pandemic
In Lokichar town, Kenya, LEI alumni Isaac, a form three student from AGC Lokichar Boys Secondary School, has demonstrated how the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Incubator Program has empowered youth to be agents of change through his work in his father’s tailoring shop. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Isaac learned the skill of dress-making and has since been making masks and reusable sanitary napkins for the women in his community. This has enabled him to save an average of 300 Kenyan shillings a day to reach his goal of 50,000 Kenyan shilling by the time he graduates from high school. Issac is planning to become a maize supplier after graduating.
