Growing Sustainable Futures in Samburu

At Asante Africa Foundation, environmental stewardship is an important part of building resilient communities. Across our programs, we encourage young people and communities to take an active role in protecting natural resources while creating opportunities for long-term livelihood development.

As part of these efforts, our Kenya team recently joined community members in Maralal to plant more than 45 fruit trees at Milimani Mixed Secondary School. The trees were selected intentionally to complement existing vegetation in the area while providing future sources of food, nutrition, and income for local families.

Beyond planting trees, our team also engaged community members and youth in conversations about environmental responsibility and the important role communities play in creating sustainable change.

This initiative reflects our belief that lasting impact grows from local action. By supporting environmental conservation alongside education, leadership, and livelihood development, we are helping communities build healthier, greener, and more sustainable futures for generations to come.
