The holiday season can be a bit of a whirlwind, especially for generous people, like yourself, who want to share their gratitude and well-being with kindness and charity. So much need; so little time!
Well, we want to offer some ways you might channel your energy and generous spirit. And remember, for U.S. citizens, every direct financial contribution is 100% tax deductible. In a sense, Uncle Sam is encouraging you to contribute to us. Don’t let him down! Here are some ways:

Double-donate! Oftentimes employers will match charitable contributions. If you work for a company, perhaps yours does. Give HR a call and find out.
Get Bullish!
If you are invested in the stock market, likely you have had a good year. Congrats! Here are ways you might share your bounty while enjoying some tax benefits.
Donate Appreciated Stock. By giving Appreciated Stock, you can avoid the capital gains tax and also claim an income tax deduction for the full current value. Contact us for instructions on how to make your gift or talk to your tax advisor.
Contribute to or open a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) account and enjoy tax savings. By using a DAF for your charitable giving, you can save both money and time. Just recommend a grant and your account advisor will take care of the rest.
Give directly from your IRA. If you are 70 ½ or older, you can make a gift directly from your IRA with a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Make your gift now to ensure funds are withdrawn from your IRA before the end of the year.

Ship your air miles. Do you have some frequent flyer miles collecting dust in the hangar? You can donate your frequent flyer miles to us! Simply contact the airline(s) with whom you’ve racked up those miles and tell them you’d like to donate some or all of those miles to Asante Africa.
