One day, a call from her grandmother revealed the struggles of her young friends who had become teenage mothers. Determined to support them, Neema put her newfound skills to work. January, inspired by YLP’s focus on leadership and problem-solving, identified deforestation as a critical issue. He envisioned a tree-planting project to educate the community and combat climate change.
While initial funding was a hurdle, January’s perseverance paid off. He secured partnerships with banks, NGOs, and even community members, raising over 400,000 Tanzanian Shillings. Additionally, the district council provided crucial logistical support.
