What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?
A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that allows individuals, families, or businesses to donate money to a public charity while enjoying immediate tax benefits. It’s often described as a “charitable savings account” because donors can contribute funds to the account, receive a tax deduction right away, and then recommend grants to their favorite nonprofit organizations over time.

When you contribute to a DAF, you qualify for a tax deduction for that year, even if you choose to distribute the funds to charities later.

You can take your time to decide which organizations or programs to support.

DAF providers handle the administrative work, such as managing funds and processing grants.
How It Works
Contribute to the DAF
You make a donation to a sponsoring organization (such as Fidelity Charitable or Schwab Charitable) that manages DAFs.
Receive a Tax Deduction
Your contribution is eligible for an immediate tax deduction.
Recommend Grants
Over time, you recommend how and when funds should be distributed to charities like the Asante Africa Foundation.

How to Recommend a Grant to Asante Africa
Find Us Through
Your DAF Provider
Use your provider’s online portal and search for:

Recommend Your Grant
Specify the amount you’d like to contribute and include any program areas you’d like to support (e.g., scholarships, girls’ education, leadership programs).
Notify Us
Please email us at info@asanteafrica.org to let us know the organization from which we can expect your grant. This ensures your contribution is directed to the right programs.
