Key Highlights from 2025

2021-2025 Strategic Plan Wraps up

•••

In 2025, Asante Africa closed out its five-year strategic plan with momentum. Across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, our programs reached tens of thousands of young people – equipping them with the skills, confidence, and connections to shape their own futures.

Building the Future Through Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan

•••

As we look ahead, Asante Africa Foundation is entering its most ambitious chapter yet. Our 2026–2030 Strategic Plan sets out to unlock pathways to economic opportunity, community resilience, and systems change for 250,000 rural youth across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Alice, Wins Prestigious Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award

•••

Growing up in poverty in rural Kenya, Alice turned a passion for traditional bead-work into a thriving business. Her bead-making enterprise now pays her school fees, supports her family, and has inspired other girls in her village to launch their own businesses. In 2025, her courage and impact earned her the prestigious Amal Clooney Women’s Empowerment Award from The King’s Trust International.

Pascal, Takes Home the 2025 Global Sustainability Award

•••

Inspired by the plastic crisis threatening his rural Ugandan community, Pascal launched a recycling initiative that now diverts 80% of local waste from landfills. Through Asante Africa’s Youth Livelihood Program and The King’s Trust International’s Enterprise Challenge, he transforms bottles into useful products, trains students, and mobilizes hundreds in monthly cleanups – earning the 2025 Global Sustainability Award.

Scaling Impact Through Strategic Partnerships

•••

Partnerships are expanding pathways for young people across East Africa, unlocking access to education, skills, and opportunity. Through collaboration with a diverse network of partners—including companies and organizations like Mwamba Mining, Together Women Rise, and King’s Trust International—more students, especially in rural communities, are able to stay in school and thrive.

Youth in Action: Transforming Communities Through Innovation

•••

Teenage girls from rural Kenya tackled their region’s water crisis by designing the Life Savers Borehole Business – a solar-powered groundwater system. Through Asante Africa Foundation’s programs, these young innovators applied STEM skills to address drought and water scarcity, proving that rural girls can engineer real, sustainable solutions for their communities. This is just one example of the impact youth are making in their communities.
